Martin Brunnhuber – Pürten

“The Brunnhuberhof is a lively place. Whether people, animals or plants - we want it to be colourful. We see an inestimable value in the attention to detail and would like to contribute to protecting nature, preserving diversity and preserving the architecture of bygone days.”

This is the philosophy of the Barnhouse partner farmers Martin and Elisabeth. Everyone who has ever been a guest at the Brunnhuberhof in Pürten , a small village in the middle of the river landscape of the Inn Valley, notices that they also live this.

The farm is located in the center of the small village and is a meeting place for villagers and guests. Long before NATURLAND farmer Martin Brunnhuber took over the farm from his parents, the inner courtyard of his property served as a village square. The farmer and his family want to continue this tradition.

“This property and associated farming has always provided jobs, food and a focal point for village life. The history of the farm is very important to us and so we see it as our task to continue writing the story with responsibility and appreciation for the past," reads the family's website.

However, Martin Brunnhuber does not just want to preserve tradition. It also adapts to today's times and - despite initial headwinds - focuses on ecology and sustainability .

Martin also grows for Barnhouse. For our delicious Krunchy, the friendly farmer supplies us with organic oats, which he grows on two of his fields.

While we are campaigning for more biodiversity with the field herb project , Martin also started the " Biodiversity in Meadows " project in October 2018. He regularly offers nature afternoons for children so that the next generation can see how important nature is to us.
